Advice Matters Financial Planning Ltd profile

Your journey with us

We provide a first-class service which is entirely bespoke to you

It’s your life and every person is different; your  goals, aspirations and challenges are different too. So we adapt our service to meet your needs and requirements.

We’ll support you throughout your financial planning journey which is made up of these five stages:

1. Initial consultation
We'll have a meeting to introduce you to how we work and to find out about you, your needs and goals. We'll discuss areas such as your retirement planning, what sort of investments you are considering or your protection needs. We will also get an understanding of the risks you're prepared to take when investing.
2. Financial review & initial recommendations
We'll request further information on your existing plans from your current providers. Then we'll analyse and prepare your report based on all the information we've gathered about you. The report will give you a snapshot of your current position and show you options that we recommend. These are to help you meet your goals or fill any gaps in your planning that we have identified.
3. Final recommendations
After discussing the Financial Review and Summary Report with you we'll agree what you would like to proceed with. Once agreed, we'll complete our market research to be able to recommend the plans and/or investments we believe are the most appropriate for you.
4. Implementation
The last stage is to make it happen. Once all the paperwork is completed we'll get your new plan/s set up for you and keep you up to speed so that you know when everything is in place.
5. Review
Plans change because of what happens to you personally and what happens in the wider world. With your agreement, we'll regularly review your personal and financial circumstances to help ensure your plan is on target and, if we need to, construct a new plan or tweak the one we've got.

Cash Flow Modelling – what is it?

At Advice Matters, we feel that Cash Flow Modelling is essential for true financial planning. In brief, it allows us to ask the three big questions:

What happens if …….?

Will I be all right if……….?

Can we afford to……….?

By building a model based on your wealth, assets and liabilities, now and in the future, we can get a real insight of how life events will have an impact for you. We can build a masterplan and factor in certain ‘what ifs’ along the way: retirement options, weddings, holidays, bank of mum and dad, care home fees etc. By giving you an organised and simple picture of your financial situation, now and in the future, we can truly aim to let you live the life you want with the money you have.

I was a bit scared about having a financial adviser until I met Chris Wheatman. He quickly put my mind at rest; no rushing, no selling, just keeping all information simple, in a language I could understand.

I have been dealing with Advice Matters since I started my first job when I was 17 years of age. The advice that has been given over the past 27 years has been great. Whether it was when I took out my first pension, right through to owning my own house and having to take out life insurance. A company I can recommend to any friends knowing they will be well looked after.
