Community
We’re a small team, but we want to support and ‘do our bit’ for our local community.
Working with local charities is something we’re committed to as a business.
Chris has supported St John’s Hospice for the past 12 years, following the excellent care they gave his younger brother David. Chris undertakes as much fundraising as he can.
David would have turned 50 in 2016, so Chris decided to do something special to commemorate him. He signed up for the Great China Trek and raised over £2,000. Overall the team of 30 trekkers raised a massive £120,000 for the hospice.
As a trustee and member of the club’s charity board, Chris helps to oversee the running of the club, utilising his skills to keep an eye on the club’s finances and investments. In 2017 the club moved to new, bigger premises and now, as well as rugby of all ages, the club is a venue for non-rugby activities including pop concerts and wedding receptions.
Having received valuable support from Breast Cancer Haven when she needed it most, Jayne now spends much of her spare time working to support this charity who offer a sanctuary and a place to cope with Breast Cancer. In particular, Jayne choreographs and helps arrange their annual Blossom Fashion Show, with all models having been visitors to this charity. This annual shows aims to raise £30,000 plus per year to support visitors to Breast Cancer Haven across the North.
