Advice Matters Financial Planning Ltd profile

The one where we need your help

So, into the new year of 2021 and hoping that, with the advent of two or three vaccines being rolled out, some normality may start to happen as we get through this year. I know that many of you will have changed priorities as we headed through a very turbulent time, valuing family, friends and community more than ever. It is with this in mind, that all of us at Advice Matters would like to do our bit for charity.

Many of you will know that, after Chris’s sad loss of his brother a few years’ ago, Chris has been an ardent supporter of St John’s Hospice in Kendal. He has raised funds over the years and even walked The Great Wall of China. For anyone who has had an experience of a Hospice, you will know that they are such amazing and special places that allow us left behind to know our loved ones were cared for and passed away in peace.

Jayne has close ties to Breast Cancer Haven, a charity that supported her through Breast Cancer and still gives her so much. She always says that when the NHS was looking after her body, Breast Cancer Haven looked after her soul. It was her place to go to not be so ‘fine’ and they continue to help her and so many others.

Hannah has spent the last ten years working with young people, keeping them involved in their communities, putting on shows and activities and was an inspiration to a generation. She has also got involved with breast cancer Haven, choreographing their main fundraiser, the Blossom Fashion Show, modelled by ladies and men who use the Haven.

In 2019, David has started a Walking Football team for the over 50’s. After Covid, this evolved into a group sharing quizzing and banter to help everyone stay connected whilst we are in lockdown.

To anyone thinking of getting involved with volunteering, we would all say that you get back so much more than you put in. It really is what makes life worthwhile.

To this end, Advice Matters are looking into how we, as a company can give back. We would like to start an initiative that, for any referral that we get, be it from clients, co-workers, or associates, we will donate £50 to a chosen charity.

We will be running a poll for you all to chose from a shortlist of our favourite charities and we hope to raise upwards of £2,000 per year. Look out at for the shortlist and get involved in helping us to give back. If you have any favourite charities you would like us to consider, just let us know.

And of course, let us know of anyone who you think could benefit from a chat with Chris.
