Name(s): Phil Whitehurst & Jane Senior
Location: Kendal, Cumbria
Client since: Late 1980’s
Client type: Business owner
Phil and Jane are married to each other and have a strong personal connection to the Lake District and surrounding area.
They have both been self-employed for over 25 years, starting a business as a partnership, then becoming Directors of Evolution Consulting (UK) Ltd, a firm specialising in leadership, management development and executive coaching.
What prompted Phil and Jane to seek financial advice?
Being self-employed Phil and Jane don’t have the benefit of a company pension plan or any of the associated benefits of being employees. Therefore, they wanted advice on how to create a sustainable business which allowed them to create a wealth plan for the future. They wanted the flexibility of being able to contribute to a pension and/or savings plan without being tied into a rigid scheme. They needed help to navigate through the many different options and possibilities available.
How did Chris help?
Chris worked with Phil and Jane to really understand their personal circumstances, their attitude to risk and the life plans they had. With this information he was able to support them in making realistic plans for building up a healthy pension plan and making sound decisions on capital purchases along the way.
How have Phil and Jane benefited from our advice?
In Jane’s words: “Chris’s input has been invaluable on our professional / life journey!”
Using a cash flow modelling programme, Chris helped Phil and Jane to plot a realistic savings plan for both the short term, and for their long term retirement plans.
This exercise gave them both the confidence to make the right decisions financially, and the peace of mind that their long term security and care has been taken care of.
Jane continues: “We are currently able to blend a mix of work / non work in a way that allows us a great quality of life together. We also have the opportunity to develop new business interests, safe in the knowledge that our long term situation has been well catered for. We would never have been able to do this without the advice and support of Chris!”
